From 2009-2019 I was the Web Manager for Médecins Sans Frontières Australia. In 2016, after writing a new content strategy ‘Stories First, Australia & New Zealand Focus’, the MSF Australia Board and Leadership Team approved for me to manage the design and development of a new website that would cater for both MSF Australia and the new fundraising entity in New Zealand.
The project involved user testing, surveys and interviews with both external and internal audiences to gather inputs. Then a tendering process, after which we decided to engage the services of Digital Garden to design and develop the site, based on a Drupal CMS that we provided as the starting point.
The project came in on time and under budget, and received positive feedback from both internal and external users. It also achieved its goals of raising the average time on page for communications articles by focusing on first-hand stories from Australians, New Zealanders, and patients.
